Child Support
Polk County Child Support UnitWork with parents to establish and enforce support orders. Together, they help families become and remain self-sufficient through improved child support collections. Minnesota's child support program helps children receive the financial, medical and child care support they deserve. The Child Support Unit provides the following services:
- Locating parents
- Establishing parentage
- Establishing court orders for basic, medical and child care support
- Reviewing and asking the court to modify basic, medical and child care support orders when appropriate
- Adjusting support orders based on the cost-of-living index
- Enforcing support orders
- Working with other states to enforce support orders
- Processing payments recieved by the Child Support Payment Center and issuing the payments by direct deposit
